A newly constructed home (2001) HAWKS VIEW was designed and built by an award winning Architect and Resident Artist from Penland School. The house is a blend of both modern and traditional cabin style architecture with an artistic touch throughout.

In the summer you can see Mt. Celo, Mt. Mitchell and the Unicoi mountain range. In the winter when the leaves drop the view is 180 degrees from Mt. Mitchell to Roan Mountain.

This home features 1400 interior square feet of living area with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, a loft, balcony and 700 square feet of wrap around porches with hemlock logs. The stone work was done by a local craftsman. Enjoy the sounds of the rain on the tin roof.

Both bathrooms have handmade ceramic sinks by local artist Ken Sedberry. The living room and loft have vaulted ceilings. Pine hardwood floors and ceilings thru out. Enjoy the breathtaking mountain views in all rooms, or sit on the covered porch to enjoy the serenity and view.
